Dim Joy @ Neil Road *Closed*

I first visited this place with an ex colleague & we absolutely enjoyed our dim sum in an uncluttered, air conditioned environment. I’ve been wanting to bring him here & finally he has time to join me for lunch.

King Shrimp Har Gao ($4) – My all time favorite. Here the har gao is 1.5 times meatier than what’s usually served out there. The name tells it all, king shrimp, huge & succulent.

Siew Mai ($3.50) – There’s more prawns than meat in their siew mai & I preferred this version. Basically anything with fresh prawn goes for me.

Honey-Syrup Char Siew Bao ($3.50) – Something he needs to order to make his dim sum meal feel complete. The white part is fluffy & soft but I personally feel that it will be better if there’s more char siew inside.

Pan Fried Radish Cake ($3.50) – One of the best radish cake I’ve eaten. Not too oily & there’s small bits of something inside that makes it more flavorful.

Savoury Beancurd Skin Roll ($4.50) – Actually I preferred the steam version of this but they don’t have it here. The skin is crispy & the filing is quite vegetarian. Not too bad.

Prosperity Pouch ($4.50) – Something interesting I don’t find else where. However, seems like most of my companions don’t really fancy this but I like it! The skin is made of fried egg & inside is some carrot, mushroom etc in a sweetened gravy.

Custard Bun ($3.50) – This is my favorite. The one served here is really good. You can feel the texture of raw sugar in the custard & it’s not too sweet. Be prepared to wait about 15 to 20mins for this though.

I’m glad that he enjoyed the food too. We’ll definitely be back again for quality good dim sum.
