Etna @ Upper East Coast

Another year had gone. It’s his birthday again. Heard about this place from a friend some time ago & had finally decided to visit their branch at East Coast Road to celebrate this special occasion.

Complementary Bread – Not what I like. Kinda tough.

Sautée di Vongole ($16) – Clams sauteed in white wine sauce. The gravy tasted quite strongly of the wine and was a tad salty to drink on it’s own. Overall a nice appetiser.

Linguine con Capesante ($25) – Linguine with scallops with prawn cream sauce. I tried a bit of his pasta but didn’t really like it as it’s kinda sweet. Am glad that he likes it though.

Stinco di Agnello ($28) – Braised lamb shank in celery , carrot & olive sauce with mashed potatoes. I love this dish. The meat is tasty & tender. The savoury gravy makes the whole dish very appetising.

Torta al Cioccolato ($12) – Chocolate cake with almonds in Anglaise creme. Seriously we were quite disappointed that the Tiramisu & Lava Cake were sold out. Since it was his birthday, I just wanted a cake for him. This cake is a bit too much to chew on with the almond & it’s sticky texture.

We enjoyed our dinner with the nice quiet ambience of this place. Wanted to try their pizza but it’s too much for the both of us. Probably our next visit will be in a bigger group & I will try to reserve their Tiramisu & Lava Cake in advance too.
