Along Upper Serangoon Road, near Lim Tua Tow Rd is a stretch of eateries. This is more like a zi char place & their tables are stretched all the way to the outside, full house. We were there to celebrate my mum’s birthday on Sat night.
*Update on 27-12-11 > They have shifted to Changi Village. Address is updated below.
Cabbage Chicken ($16) – This is their signature dish. The chicken is wrapped with cabbage & simmered in savory gravy till meat is tender soft. The cabbage totally absorbed the taste of the gravy. This dish is a must try.
Beancurd with Golden Mushrooms ($8) – A good combination of fried beancurd, golden mushrooms & spinach with gravy. Very tasty.
Salted Egg Yolk Prawns ($18) – It’s a little oily & not much taste of the salted egg yolk. Can find bits & pieces of the salted egg yolk on the plate though. Still nice but not fantastic.
Broccoli with Abalone Mushroom ($10)
Soup ($8) – The pot of soup is enough for 7-8 bowls of serving. I can’t remember what soup we ordered. If I’m not wrong it should be seafood soup. Since it’s not double boiled soup, can’t comment much on it but definitely not my kind of soup.
Almond Jelly with Longan ($2) – We wanted to order yam paste but it will take about 20mins to prepare. It’s bed time for my nephew so we decided to order something else that can serve faster. A simple dessert but not a bad alternative too.
Overall we enjoyed the food. The price is reasonable & we will definitely be back for their cabbage chicken.
